Q:what is Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation?
LVR is is a one hour outpatient procedure designed to enhance sexual gratification. In vaginal childbirth, when a baby exits, the muscles, ligaments and fascia within the birth canal may weaken. This weakness may become worse with additional deliveries or as you age and lead to decreased vaginal muscle tone. As a result some women experience vaginal looseness, decreased sensation and pleasure, vaginal flatus and an unattractive gaping introitus. The focus of these procedures is on the reconstruction of the damaged muscles and tissues of the vaginal cavity to decrease the internal and external vaginal diameters. This procedure restores the vagina and it’s supporting structures to a more youthful, "pre-pregnancy" state. In doing so, the vagina tightens, which allows for enhanced friction increasing sexual gratification for both men and women. Vaginal muscle tone and appearance are also enhanced.
Vaginal laser treatment is used to improve mixed stress urinary incontinence (a problem where women leak urine when they cough or sneeze). The treatment also improves loose or poorly functioning vaginal skin and tissue (vaginal relaxation syndrome), as well as to decrease the diameter of the vagina for enhanced sexual stimulation during intercourse.
How is the treatment performed?
The treatment is quick and easy. A special laser applicator is inserted into the vaginal canal, similar to having a female exam. The anterior wall of the vagina is treated with laser energy to shrink and tighten the skin and give better support to the bladder. A separate laser applicator is used to tighten the diameter of the vagina. Finally, the external skin of the labia is treated with a laser to tighten and improve texture and tone. Average treatment time for the procedure is less than 30 minutes.
